CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support
Our CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is a course suitable for people who are employed in aged care work or have prior experience in aged care work who want to upgrade their knowledge and skills in this area.Whilst it is not compulsory for students to have completed the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support, it is strongly advised that this qualification is completed prior to undertaking the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support or have previouse experience in working within the aged care sector.
Workers at this advanced level may provide services to people with complex needs, assist in program development and delivery, or may be required to supervise/co-ordinate a limited number of other service providers.
Our course addresses topics such as: assessing older people with complex needs, planning and monitoring service delivery, undertaking relevant administrative work, planning and conducting group activities, implementing and monitoring OH&S/WHS policies and procedures, conducting recreational programs for older people and organising an effective work environment.
This qualification is suitable for people seeking professional or career development in the aged care industry and direct care work.
Students may undertake this qualification on line dependent on their approved access to practical placement conditions. This allows those who are currently working in the industry to study outside of work schedules.
A mandatory component of our program is the 120 hours of practical placement, working within an actual aged care environment. If you are currently working within the industry, this work can be counted as a part of your required 120 hours.
The course comprises of 18 units (15 Core and 3 Elective). Successful completion of this course requires the fulfillment of all 18 units of competency.
Note: Please note that students who have previously completed their CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) may be awarded Credits against units marked with an “*”

Admission Criteria
Applicants seeking entry into CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support course should meet the following criteria.
- Are 18 years old and
- Have successfully completed year 10 of secondary school or equivalent, or be of mature age.
- Be able to use and respond to written language, including some unfamiliar material in a variety of formats.
- Successfully complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test (LLN).
- Obtain a satisfactory clear National Police Clearance.
- Must be an Australian Citizen /Permanent Resident / Temporary Visa holder of sub-class 309, 310, 820, 826, 851 / Dependant of sub-class 457 visa.
- Must have reliable computer and internet capabilities.
- Must be prepared to locate their own approved Practical Placement (with some assistance from ACOIS)

Possible Course Pathways
Once students have completed their qualification at the certificate III level they may decide to continue their studies in the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support or candidates may also like to progress to higher level qualifications within the aged care sector and across the community sector.
The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support requires the completion of 18 units, however for those students who have successfully completed the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support with ACOIS, they will be automatically granted credits for 10 of these units.
ACOIS will also recognise credit transfers upon proof of units completed with other RTOs.
