The General English course is delivered via an interactive classroom environment to assist students to develop their use of the English language, including their reading, writing, speaking and listening. There are six individual level within this course consisting of Starter, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate and Advanced.
At Starter Level, the course is based on survival type English which a beginner students needs to learn to communicate following arrival in an English speaking country. On completion of this level, students will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases, will be able to introduce him or herself and others, as well as ask and answer questions about personal details. Students will also be able to interact in a simple way when the other person speaks slowly and clearly and repeats or clarifies information as needed.

Our location is located within 5 minute walk from famous Flinders Street train station and is very close to both buses and trams connecting to all major public transport routes.
There is public car parking available.
There are no specific educational pre-requisites for entry into this course, as entry into this level is based on assessment of English language proficiency. All students will complete the Oxford Online Placement Test. The outcome on their scores for reading, writing, listening, speaking and grammar will determine the level students should start at and the recommended duration. Alternatively, students can progress or enter based on a passing grade in the immediately preceding General English level.
Other English language proficiency tests such as IELTS, Cambridge, PTE and TOEFL may be taken into consideration when placing students.
Students must be at least 18 years of age.

Applications for admission for students on a student visa must be made using the Enrolment form. After passing through Levels 1 – 6, students may be able to pathway into an academic English course such as IELTS, or undertake studies at a higher education level, at an RTO, TAFE or university.
